Hello and welcome to my personal website! 🎉
I’m Cruz Caine, and this is more than just a blog - it’s a space where I’ll be sharing my journey through the exciting worlds of software engineering, robotics, and academic excellence.
Who Am I? Link to heading
I’m currently an International Baccalaureate student at Hillel Academy. My passion lies at the intersection of technology, mathematics, and innovation. With a recent SAT score of 1560 and consistently achieving top grades across my CSEC examinations, I’m always striving for academic excellence while pursuing hands-on technical experience.
My Robotics Journey Link to heading
One of my proudest achievements has been my involvement with the Hillel Panthers Robotics Team. As a Robotics Programmer and CAD Designer, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to:
- 🏆 Win the FIRST Jamaica National Championship (2025)
- 🎖️ Receive the Motivate Award at the FIRST Jamaica National Championship
- 🌍 Compete internationally at the 2025 FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas
The experience of working with a team to design, program, and compete with robots has taught me invaluable lessons about collaboration, problem-solving under pressure, and the importance of iterative design.
Academic Achievements I’m Proud Of Link to heading
Beyond robotics, I’ve been fortunate to achieve recognition in several academic competitions:
- UWI Physics Olympiad Silver Medalist (2025)
- 2nd Place National U.W.I Mathematics Olympiad (2023)
- Jamaica National Team Member for the OMCC Mathematics Olympiad in El Salvador
- Ranked 9th in the Caribbean for CSEC Electrical & Electronic Technology
